The e-Science Institute is pleased to announce the third theme in its rolling programme on the topic "Adoption of e-Research technologies: From prototype to commodity". And eSI is now calling for proposals for themes to be run over the next two years commencing in January 2007.

The e-Science Institute is pleased to announce the third theme in its
rolling programme. This is being run in conjunction with the National
Centre for e-Social Science (NCeSS) and is on the topic "Adoption of
e-Research technologies: From prototype to commodity". The theme
commences on 1 Sep 2006 and will be led by Alex Voss, Rob Procter and
Tom Rodden. For further details please see the attached document or

Funding opportunity: The e-Science Institute is now calling for
proposals for themes to be run over the next two years commencing in
January 2007. We would ask Directors to think about whether there is
some specific area of e-Science that they feel could benefit from a
prolonged and sustained investigation over a period of 6 months to a
year. In line with eSI's mission to support UK research and address the
perceived disconnect between applications scientists and technical
experts, proposals for themes should have significant buy-in from both
