Intro-data-analysis: overview

This page provides an introduction to using AstroGrid for data analysis purposes. Under Available Tools you will find a table providing a brief summary of some of the tools available through AstroGrid which can be used for data analysis. Under Data Analysis: Examples you will find links to examples, demonstrating how to use some of these data analysis tools.

Data Analysis: examples

The following is a list of data analysis examples which demonstrate how to use some of the tools which are available through AstroGrid. Click on the linked titles to find out more information.

  • Catalogue crossmatch. One of the most common operations after the users has obtained some catalogues from AstroScope or from a query to a particular service is to carry out a cross match between then. This example explains the different options available to perform a crossmatch between catalogues.
  • Extracting objects from images. This example explains how to use SExtractor in the server in order to obtain a catalogue of objects in an image (coming soon).
